Nude Golf Is Growing

Brooks Koepka’s naked photos in ESPN’s Body Issue have created a groundswell of interest in nude golf.

Sean Dermis, USGA Managing Director of Skins Competitions, is pleased with the trend: “We’re excited to see the growing interest in nude golf. It’s a great way to bring the family together as well as to lose your tan line. In addition, we think that Millennials will be drawn to golf as a fun way to display their tattoos and body piercings.”

Dermis cites a precedent for the “Birthday Suit” movement: “A time capsule unearthed at a Glasgow construction site revealed a letter from the R&A to Old Tom Morris, rebuking him for having “gone commando” in the 1867 Open at Prestwick. The USGA believes that it’s a healthy progression from having your “boys” flopping around under your kilt … to going “The Full Monty” in a stipulated round.”

Sean Dermis is confident that nude golf will result in a marked decrease in slow play: “Because most people have repulsive bodies, a foursome will get around the course in 27 minutes to avoid viewing their playing partners’ moles, stretch marks, scars, liver spots, and, of course, sagging flesh. That will result in more rounds played and more revenue for golf course operators. We’ll be launching an ad campaign soon promoting nude golf with this great slogan: ‘Get in the buff and stay out of the rough!’”
