Patrick Reed will be required to attend a 3-day seminar given by the PGA Tour’s Charm Squad. Senior VP for Interpersonal Relations, Maryanne Fenster, announced that Charm Squad directors Jason Dufner, Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh, and Sergio Garcia will provide Reed with the “hands-on guidance he needs to negotiate today’s media and spectator landscape.”
“We’re excited that Jason, Colin, Vijay, and Sergio have stepped up to the plate and volunteered to help Patrick,” said Fenster. “Through their long and distinguished careers, they’ve demonstrated the ability — through words and deeds — to reach out to sponsors, fans, volunteers, the media, our Dove Bar vendors, and the helium gas distributors without whom our valued broadcasting partners’ blimps would not become airborne.”
Some “tough love” is also in the cards for Reed. Unnamed sources say that Reed will be required to top off his courtesy car’s gas tank at every tournament’s conclusion. And the word on the street is that Augusta National Golf Club has read the riot act to Patrick Reed: No second helpings at the Masters Champions Dinner.
