PGA Tour Targets GITHers

PGA Tour representatives will be at Bethpage State Park (Black Course) for the 2019 PGA Championship. “We’ll approach fans who yell ‘Get in the hole!’ — we call them GITHers — and offer them a free introductory $20 bet when they sign up with PGA TournaBet,” said Gay Ming, VP of the Tour’s gaming division. “We believe that drunk and rowdy fans will have even more fun at PGA Tour events when they have a little action going on the side.”

Ming contends that the Tour is not concerned that fans will engage in foul play by screaming “Get in the hole!” during a player’s backswing. “I always guard against that,” says Phil Mickelson. “I’ll bet 10 grand on myself to win but hedge my bet with a small ‘Lefty To Lose’ play for a dime. And I love those prop bets where I can wager if I’ll hit the fairway or not with my drive on a particular hole. So if I’m a little loosey-goosey at the top; so what? It’s all in good fun and my sponsor, KPMG, says my losing bets are tax deductible.”
